Last week, I attended the BeerCodeDesign Christmas Party to celebrate a great first year of the BCD community forming and to discuss new ideas for the island’s creative community.
Adrian Ritchie shared his idea and plan to build a ‘Make Space’ on Guernsey – a spot where anybody can visit and access tools/equipment to help develop their particular interests and skills. Inspired by a similar concept during his adventure across America, Adrian would love to build a space where users would have access to tools like 3D printers and soldering irons; both saving the cost of individuals needing to purchase the tools, and also creating a shared work environment where users can meet others and even collaborate on new projects.
There were some great ideas floating around and I’m looking forward to attending the next event! Keep up with the Beer Code Design community on their website: beercodedesign.com
