Benjamin, founder of BL Music, approached Crowd in need of a new website that would give his brand the professional & polished presence it needed online.
With a current website that was no longer up to date with regard to current design trends or usability, Crowd were tasked with creating a new design that not only looked good, but would be easy to manage, with the implementation of a CMS.
The website would include several different areas, including: Artists, Festivals, Events & Mentoring. Each of these areas would need to be different in layout, since the content itself would vary in structure between these different pages.
We focussed on clean, simple yet design conscious layouts that make it easy to consume the content.
The landing page (above) needed to be simple, but impactful… We matched clear brand establishment with an easy to navigate menu, together with some stylish hover states that tie into the menu item in question (check it out here). As the project progressed, we made sure to remain loyal to the clean style that we had established from the beginning of the user journey, and abide by:

With this in mind, the clean & simple design of the BL Music website lends itself very well to mobile scaling, without having to compromise any of the original design features available on the desktop view.
And whilst we’re on the subject of website usability, one important element that needed to be included was the English / French translation tool, due to the geographical relevance the content has to France. The festivals & events largely take place within France, so this feature had to be prominent on each page of this website.
